निकलो /nik·lo/ — “head out!”

What the group chat says when the plan finally becomes real.

how it works

01

Pin the contenders

Someone makes the trip, shares one link, and everyone drops their dream spots on the globe.

02

Vote, then stamp it

Keen, fine either way, or rather not — say which, so nobody's silence gets counted as a yes. Then the host stamps the winner.

03

Build the days

Boarding-pass days you drag into shape, while the route and its altitude draw themselves on the map.

04

Split and settle

Log who paid as you go. Niklo keeps the balances, finds the fewest transfers, and hands each one a UPI link.

Days that read like boarding passes

Each day is a card with its stops, times and a map — drag them around until the trip feels right.

questions, answered

What is Niklo?

Niklo is a free web app for planning group trips with friends. Everyone on the trip proposes destinations and votes on a 3D globe, builds the day-by-day itinerary together, ticks off packing and permits, splits expenses and chats — all in one place instead of a 400-message group chat. The name is Hindi: निकलो, “head out!”

Is Niklo really free?

Yes. Niklo is free to use — no credit card, no trial that expires. It runs in the browser, so nobody has to install anything.

How does the group decide where to go?

Anyone can pin a destination on the trip's globe, and on each one you say whether you're keen, fine either way, or would rather not — so the quiet people aren't read as agreement. Niklo ranks places by the people who want them minus the people who don't. When the group has argued enough, the trip owner stamps the winner, and that destination is what the itinerary, route and checklists build on.

How do we agree on dates?

Ask the question the other way round. The host opens a stretch of the calendar to search, and everyone marks the days they cannot travel — far easier to answer than “when are you free?”. Niklo works out which runs of days still suit everyone who has replied, keeps track of who has not, and the host locks one in as the trip's dates.

Can we split expenses in rupees?

Yes. Log each expense with who paid and who it covers; Niklo keeps running balances and works out the smallest set of transfers to settle up. On rupee trips each transfer gets a UPI link that opens your payment app with the payee and amount filled in — Niklo never touches the money itself. Trips can use ₹ or any other currency.

Does it work for a Leh–Ladakh trip?

Especially well. Checklists are suggested from where you're actually going — environment-fee paperwork and acclimatisation for Ladakh, ferries for the islands, buffer days for the monsoon — and the route view shows every stop with the drive and the altitude profile between them.

Do my friends need to install an app?

No. One person creates the trip and shares an invite link; friends sign in with Google or email in the browser — phone or laptop — and they're on the trip.

How is this different from WhatsApp plus a spreadsheet?

A group chat scrolls; a plan shouldn't. In Niklo the destination vote, the itinerary, the packing list and the money ledger are living things the whole group edits, and the chat sits next to the plan instead of burying it.

The next trip starts with one link.

Make the trip, send the invite, watch the pins land. Free, in the browser, from the first vote to the last settle-up.
