🧭Group trip essentials checklist
Every trip — a weekend in Gokarna or three weeks in Ladakh — runs on the same boring admin, and it's always one friend who ends up remembering all of it. Get these ten things done as a group and the trip survives a lost wallet, a dead network or a twisted ankle.
Documents
Share government ID copies in the group
Aadhaar, passport or driving-licence photos in the trip chat or a shared folder. Hotels, trains and permits all ask for them.
Buy travel insurance
Even a ₹300 domestic policy covers medical evacuation and lost bags. Add the adventure cover for treks, rafting or diving.
Money
Carry cash plus a UPI backup
Small towns run on cash and patchy networks. Keep ₹5,000+ in small notes and a second UPI app.
Agree how to split money
Decide who pays for what upfront and log expenses in the Money tab as you go.
Health
Pack a basic medicine kit
Paracetamol, ORS, antacid, anti-diarrhoeal, band-aids and personal prescriptions with a copy of the prescription.
Safety
Share emergency contacts
One next-of-kin number per person plus everyone's blood group, pinned in the chat — and 112, India's all-in-one emergency number.
Connectivity
Chargers, power bank and cables
One 20,000 mAh power bank per two people and a multi-plug for rooms with a single socket.
Download offline maps
Google Maps offline area for the whole region; the network drops outside towns.
Stay
Save booking confirmations offline
Screenshots of hotel, train and flight confirmations in a shared album.
Everything else
Invite everyone to the trip
Share the invite code so votes, packing lists and the itinerary stay in one place.
